Controller not detected by the game. posted in Fallout 4 Technical Support: Nevermind that the keyboard/mouse controls are absolute crap, my workaround was to hotplug in a controller when I wanted to use the settlement editor. KB/M for normal game, gamepad for settlements. Ive done this many times over the past 40 hours of gameplay. At any point in the game, I plug in the controller. Navigate to the Library tab in the Steam window, and locate Fallout 4 in the list of the games you own in your library. Right-click on the game and choose the Play Game Non-Steam users can simply double-click the game’s icon.
Couldn't find a K model without spending a fortune for it. I got the 4770 for $150 CAD and that included a whole system (Dell 9020 with 16gb of ram, 320gb hdd, etc which now I put in a Pentium G3220 to act as my home theater PC).
4770K would have cost me roughly $300 CAD for processor alone.Ram was about $100 CAD, Motherboard was $180 only because I made a major mistake not noticing where it was coming from. This was a cheap build using spare and older parts due to cost. I mean, I did very well excluding performance loss in Fallout 4. I mean, GTA V plays max everything and doesn't dip below 60fps. So I am happy. Well, not happy with Fallout 4 performance, but happy overall.
Your better off just trying to deal with it. Another thing you can do is disable the NVIDIA gameworks stuff like the debris effectsAlso check your ini files for bUseCombinedObjects and make sure its set to On. Some mods require it to be off but it will cut frame rates in half in the boston area.
A mod does exist to help with that though.Another option is validate the game files then set shadows to medium, while game looks worse Shadows if memory serve me right are still handled by the CPU. While Fallout 4 is better in terms of its multi-threading it still lightyears behind other games. So Shadows can cause drops in complex scenes typically Boston. Funny enough, with the performance mod installed, I saw zero difference with it installed or not.Edit: You know Crazy, thanks for brining that up to me.
I noticed I did something very wrong with it. Apparently, I am not supposed to use all those boston fix files as a series.
I am only supposed to use one. There may have been conflict. Am downloading the one and seeing if it will help.So I tried it. Maybe a tiny bit of a increase but nothing really noticeable.
Still a problem but yeah, I figure its just what it is. Sad that my tricks doesn't work.
It does still tank my framerate but its more manageable on my rig, perhaps Freesync help me on that front.I'll guide you on memory overclocking, I use Z87 Extreme4 before. The BIOS should be similar. Go to BIOS, select 'OC tweaker' tab, scroll down to 'DRAM frequency' and select your desired frequency. Yours should be 'DDR3-1600', select it to something higher like 'DDR3-1866' or 'DDR3-2133', save and restart. You might need to adjust memory timing in 'DRAM Configuration' menu if your PC won't boot or crash. Inside the 'DRAM Configuration' menu the first on the list is 'DRAM Tweaker' and it list your RAM default timing, voltage and clock.
Adaptive Vsync is bad for fallout 4, you need to use the games vsyncRAM speed helps your max FPS, but its not the reason you get bad performance - and mismatched sticks do NOT cause performance loss, only running single channel does that (two sticks with different sizes, or in the wrong slots on motherboard) your speccy screenshots show 1600mhz dual channel, which is definitely enough for 60fps in this game (remember that this game breaks once you pass around 100FPS, you cant use terminals or lockpicking at high framerates). The recently released action role-playing game, Fallout 4 has become extremely popular. It is available for PC and game consoles. On PC, it has a number of issues you might face.
One of the issues is mouse lag. The mouse is not responsive for many users. Another issue is low frame rate.
With my GeForce GTX 750 Ti, it gives only 30 FPS! Here is what you can do about it.RECOMMENDED: You can try the following tweaks:.
Close the Fallout 4 game. Go to your game preferences folder. Usually it is located at: This PCDocumentsMy GamesFallout4If you are running Windows 7, go to C:Usersyour user nameDocumentsMy GamesFallout4. Double click the file Fallout4Prefs.ini. It will be opened in Notepad:.
Find the line iPresentInterval=1Change it to iPresentInterval=0This should fix the mouse lag issue. Find the line bForceIgnoreSmoothness=0Change it to bForceIgnoreSmoothness=1If you are an NVIDIA SVGA card owner like me, try the following steps:. Go to your Desktop, right click the NVIDIA icon in the system tray (notification area) near the clock. Open the NVIDIA control panel. Now go to '3D Settings' and add Fallout.exe to your Programs.
Then, apply the following tweaks:'Triple Buffer' to ON.' Max frames render ahead' to 1.And finally 'V-Sync' on.This should improve the game performance a lot.RECOMMENDED:You are here: » » Fix mouse lag and low FPS issues in Fallout 4.
